What this site stores
Nothing on your device. No cookies, and nothing written to your browser's storage, on any page. There is no account, no session and no preference to remember.
Analytics and cookies
Visits are counted by GoatCounter, an analytics service hosted in the European Union. It records which page was opened, where you arrived from, your country, and the kind of browser and device you used.
It does not record your IP address; that is discarded once the visit has been counted. It does not set anything on your device, so it cannot recognise you on a later visit. Counting is done with a hash on the server that changes every day.
One thing is counted beyond page views: opening a route in Google Maps. It is the only way to tell which routes people actually set out on, rather than which ones they read about.
There are no cookies and no advertising pixels. Nothing is stored on your device and nothing is read from it, so there is no consent banner to click.
If you would rather not be counted, turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser. This site honours both.
Forms
The feedback form is handled by Formspree, which receives what you type and passes it to me by email. Only the feedback form is open; the contact and What next? forms are shut, and their fields are disabled.
What is sent is what you fill in: the route, your answers, your note, and an email address if you choose to give one. The email address is optional, and it is used only to reply to you.
Formspree hosts its service on Amazon Web Services in the United States, so a submission leaves the UK. The transfer is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses, which Formspree states it relies on as a processor.
A submission is deleted once the route has been corrected, and within six months whatever happens.
Nothing from the form is stored on your device, and nothing about it is read from your device.
To have a submission deleted sooner, write to hello@slightlyelsewhere.co.uk.
External links
Links to venues and ticket pages take you to other organisations. Their privacy practices apply once you leave this site.
Route pages also link to Google Maps for directions. Opening one hands you to Google, on Google's terms rather than these.
Contact
This is a private validation pilot and is not yet collecting personal data. Write to hello@slightlyelsewhere.co.uk about anything on this page.
